Ward 4 Project: East Main St. & Knoxville Ave. Intersection Improvements - ArDOT Permit

Project Scope:  

Improvements include installing sidewalks to complete the connectivity along all sides of the intersection of Arkansas Highway 64 (W Main Street) and Knoxville Ave. along with push button pedestrian crossings signalization.  The project includes replacing the damaged traffic control cabinet and relocating the structure out of the sight triangle to improve safety and visibility.    One power pole will be added to relocate the guy wires out of the pedestrian walkway.

The project stays within the existing right-of-way, with temporary easements, as necessary, for sidewalk construction.  

The improvements will be in accordance with Arkansas Department of Transportation design criteria and specifications, requiring periodic submittals in accordance with the highway plan preparation manual.

Traffic Control Cabinet

Ward 1 Project: West Main Street Pedestrian Improvements - ArDOT Permit

Project Scope:  

Improvements include installing 0.81 miles of a 5 ft. sidewalk with 3 ft. of greenspace along the north side (ONLY) of Arkansas Highway 64 (W Main Street) The project will start at the existing sidewalk at the Walgreens at N Joplin Ave. and extend west up to and along E Carthage Ave. to the residenW Main Vicinty Maptial housing complex.

The project stays within the existing right-of-way, with temporary easements, as necessary, for driveway adjustments, minor grading, and yard drains.  Where the slope is steeper, the sidewalk will be widened to 6 ft. 4 inch to accommodate a handrail and a turned down curb.

The improvements will be in accordance with Arkansas Department of Transportation design criteria and specifications, requiring periodic submittals in accordance with the highway plan preparation manual.
